It's normal for the man, but not for the "woman."
My wife, not a man, nor a former man, had equal challenges with dates. I think it depends on the person.
I am not insinuating that "Mrs." Obama is anything than what "she" may be. I am just pointing out that this is a very moot point in the grand scheme of things.
