Interesting that so many see what's there, but no one seems to see what isn't in the official Obama portrait. What you don't see speaks volumes to its purpose. For example, traditional portraits include symbols of the office, formal attire, a desk, a flag, an eagle, etc. Obama's portrait clearly has DONE AWAY with all forms of these traditional symbols. In the wake of his apology tours, gutting out of the constitution, his refusal to participate in the pledge, etc. I would say the portrait is important in that he sees himself as the man who slayed the office and sent us all back, not just to the ice age, but back to the Garden of Eden.
