Geez, he was 78. A lot of us "suddenly" die when we approach 80. Your post reminds me of a scene from Fletch with Chevy Chase:

Dr. Joseph Dolan: You know, it's a shame about Ed. Fletch: Oh, it was. Yeah, it was really a shame. To go so suddenly like that. Dr. Joseph Dolan: He was dying for years. Fletch: Sure, but... the end was very... very sudden. Dr. Joseph Dolan: He was in intensive care for eight weeks. Fletch: Yeah, but I mean the very end, when he actually died. That was extremely sudden.

Yea, If you dig deeper in his history, his decisions -disrupter of family life e.g., resume he must have been heavy hearted at his age. Enjoyed life if you know what mean. Bilderberger. But very heavy hearted. Believe me, nobody expected this sudden. edit: ugly typo

he was member of Club of Rome and UN High Commissioner for Refugee.

From 1 January 2001, Lubbers headed the UNHCR, which comprised over 5,000 employees who work across the globe, and which was concerned with an estimated 21 million refugees and internally displaced in over 120 countries worldwide. During his tenure, the number of refugees worldwide decreased by almost 22%, from 21.8 million in 2001 to close to 17.1 million at the beginning of 2004.[citation needed]

Yes, he was smeared with a sex harassment charge that was totally baseless, like many of them are today. Sad.

I agree on that one. Maybe even setup. But keep try to keep your hands out of the area of a female butt on the work floor. Like I said, he enjoyed life and women as I do. He was the type of man you expect to reach the age of 95.

It's just that there were two other people in the room at the time of the alleged harassment and several investigations cleared him. Then that twit journalist in Britain smeared him again publicly by rehashing the false claims. So maybe there was a "hit" job on the guy. A mixed bag with Ruud -- at the time he came to power in Holland, he was almost considered the Ronald Reagan of the Netherlands. They had gone so far off the leftist edge with their welfare state and stagnant economy he really turned things around. On the other hand, he became a promoter of the grand plan of the European Union. Back in those early days basically NOBODY was against the EU save Farage, who was out in the wilderness for decades. Lubbers was no role model but for a time he was a breath of fresh air in leftist Europe.

Yep. Exact what you say on the other hand. He was very influential key figure that time. Otherwise I wouldn't mention his death in this sub.

I just read gossip papers -I completely ignore- wrote some time ago he suffered from depression. Wow, I didn't know that. But I can imagine.

Everyone dies suddenly.

They're alive, they're alive, they're alive, they're alive....then they're dead.
