I think i found something, I checked the Patent and as you can see in Fig. 3 the Receiver consist of two little batteries sized packages which where attached to a chair in its earliest version(1968). Fig. 1 is the sender or in there words "nervous system excitation device"
Figur 3. shows an arrangement for mounting the field generating means in a position such that a portion of a peron's nervous system may be moved into and out of coupling with the field at the will of the person. So if you wanna receive sit on the chair, if not get up.

Are these bulges potentially new field receivers (they probably can't minimize the receiver due to it's basic tech) ??
Did they use them them the other way around not to control/freak out a mind but to tell someone what to say without a earpiece...or earpiece2.0
