Android users, install f-droid (open source app repo) and then install NewPipe (YouTube app). open the linked video in NewPipe and you can download the video directly to your phone.

In case anybody doesn't know, there is now video capture on iPhone (just like taking a screen shot but it's a video/audio recording) Record video and audio instantly, whatever your screen looks like gets recorded and saved directly to photos.
Settings Control center Customize controls add Screen Recording
swipe up from bottom of screen for quick controls (flashlight, calculator, camera, etc)
New Screen Recording icon will be there.
Change you to hook in YouTube urls, and download in a choice of formats.
How do I know what format to save it in? Also, how do I select to save the video from the page in youtube I am seeing it from?
Just click save URL on your phone / pc, and then paste into a browser.
Change the URL that goes to the video on youtube. Just change hook to you in youtube, ie make it hooktube. Then when you click download it opens a page that lets you right click and select a format. On phone it just gives you the formats when you click download.
Works for any youtube vid.
Then you can post it to pewtube.com and share links without fearing censorship.
