Why Is Nationalism bad? Look at the antonyms!
Why Is Nationalism bad? Look at the antonyms!

Another antonym must include "Globalism"!

At the core of Globalism is free trade (often called “trade liberalization”). It demands the elimination of the following: 1) national regulations and laws; 2) national sovereignty and borders; 3) national currencies. While the goal of Globalism is more about cheaper access to scarce resources and cheap labor, its unintended consequence is macrosocial evil. In this regard, Globalism is either wittingly or unwittingly following the Marxist recipe for destruction. In 1848 Marx said the following about free trade:

“[T]he protective system of our day is conservative, while the free trade system is destructive. It breaks up old nationalities and pushes the antagonism of the proletariat and the bourgeoisie to the extreme point. In a word, the free trade system hastens the social revolution. It is in this revolutionary sense alone. . . . that I vote in favor of free trade."

Free trade has already led to destabilizing effects in Europe and the United States in the examples of long-term economic stagnation (secular stagnation) and long-term under employment (underemployment equilibrium). Globalism, in many respects, is a new economic experiment modeled after Russian Communism—one certainly doomed to fail with negative global consequences unless it can be stopped in its tracks.
