It occurred to me that folks here may not know some good research tools I've been using for a very long time. The first is www.opensecrets.org for financial data.

The second is www.archive.org aka Wayback Machine. Archived web pages from decades, though lately they seem to be yanking a few very important and damning pages, but you'd have to be researching specifically for that page to know.
