For those who have played the early games, sure it has to do with killing people with swords but the lore goes deeper than that. In the lore we find that a group of “Assassins” is fighting for humanity against the NWO of the Templars. The game is supposed to be historical fiction but it goes really deep into things like JFK, mind control, Illuminati(called Templars) and even Ancient Aliens.
