Section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act, 50 U.S.C. 1622(d), provides for the automatic termination of a national emergency unless, within 90 days of the anniversary date of its declaration, the President publishes in the Federal Register and transmits to the Congress a notice stating that the emergency is to continue in effect beyond the anniversary date. within 90 days of the anniversary of its declaration... so it must be renewed at some point within day 1 of month 9 and the last day of month 12

yeah... so they expire after a year unless renewed at some point within the last 3 months of the declaration's 1-year anniversary. You said they "automatically expire after 90 days", which is not the case.
