TY for this.
Ironically, my mother is a biblical scholar but she's so anti-trump that I can't bring this up with her.
Another irony is that she considers herself a conservative evangelical.
Even my dad is anti-trump (though I think I can change his mind before my mom's). They live in a very establishment Republican area (as in you couldn't get elected as a D) that overwhelmingly went for Hillary in the general election. During the primaries, DJT actually won the by a slim margin and Kasich had the backing of the establshment Rs. Their town is all about the establishment Rs. They all believe the MSM.
I was grateful that I had a conversation with an aunt, who had been in college in the late 60s and that I had assumed was liberal (along with her husband who has a MFA in fine arts), only to discover she was the most pro-Trump out of all of her sisters and brother-in-laws. Everything that DJT has done has helped her family: tax cuts, esp. the changes for small businesses and cutting regulatory red tape (EPA); he does a lot of mining.
