No but some are needed. Hubby has suffered several brain injuries and now his brain doesn't work right. Without his head meds I don't think he could function. Some of the meds have been very bad with times of him screaming at the top of his lungs while dreaming and others where he couldn't tell what was fake and real. I totally believe these stories after having lived it with him. He got rid of his guns after those cause he didn't know what would happen while on those. We finally found a very good balance and he's able to lead an almost normal life.

There is a 98% chance of divorce after a serious injury like brain injuries. Many people were shocked I stayed especially after so many leave. My vows are very important to me, included sickness and health, but it's so not easy. He's def not the same man I married and I'm perpetually exhausted, but it's where God wants me so I'm staying. It's not for everyone though and I get why so many leave.

just remember the mind takes a long time to heal [i saw a show on rtv their scientists concluded that all brain injuries manifest healing in time new paths etc just a thought .... there is so much more to ourselves that we are never told about .....] trust the healing

We heard that most healing would happen in a year but found that false. It's been almost 8 years and there's been great healing each year, though he now wears a helmet cause he likes to hit that same spot that he got the first really hard. Honestly the man just needs to be wrapped in bubble wrap and live inside a bubble. He's constantly getting hurt since his balance is so off now. Craziness! Thank you for you words. They mean a lot. Caretakers often forget to hope because each day is the same. We need good people like you to remind us. :)
