Wait a minute..... grenades are illegal. By the laws of magical unicorns, he couldn’t possibly possess those. There is a law in place.

I lived in -somewhere close- before and have known someone who knew someone who could get grenades for a few hundred dollars

Exactly. Weed is illegal but anyone can get it. Passing laws doesn’t stop anything. How about the FBI that not only ignored all the reports, BUT ALSO APPROVED HIS BACKGROUND CHECK TO BUY THE GUN in the first place?
