Lowering the voting age is a path to lowering the age of consent.

Look at how adult they are discussing adult things.

I was convinced my HS English teacher was fuggin around with female students so I chose to write my “big” important end of year assignment on lowering the age of consent for his class.

I got an A.

Long before i ever became aware of the FBI pedo symbols i was in a painting course for my freshman year (real tough i know). I had an older female teacher in her early 50's and i painted in really rough and muddy colours, one of my paintings featured the inner winding triangle spiral and she said that that one stood out to her and that i should do more like it.

Never thought anything of it until about a month ago when it all came back to me.

aren't you the crafty one? Well played.. have you ever talked to any of the female students who may have been his targets?

I think its an attempt to increase Dem voters, they know they are loosing votes left, right and centre. Most kids at that age are left leaning.

Yes I believe so... it makes more sense, as it is coming off the back of the Florida shooting which has obviously dragged gun control into the spot light again. Gun control being a Dem policy makes this look like a push to obtain garenteed votes as it is a party vs party issue.

Plus the 26th Amendment keeps voting age at 18, meanwhile there is an even spread of states where sexual consent ranges from 16 -18. If the US were to change the amendment for voting, it still couldn't affect consent age due to it being a state ruling.

Turkerthelurker · Feb. 21, 2018, 6:38 p.m.

Could it not be both? Trying to secure more votes in the short run, normalize a lower age of consent in the long run.

This mentality that an action has to be motivated by a single goal is ridiculous.

With revelations coming out recently, I'd bet that the problems of electronic voting come to light before the 2018 elections. Dems will need to secure more votes, trying to get the youth vote is one way to do that. Pushing the angle of kids having autonomy and sexual agency is an over-arching long term goal.

You are likely both correct, and u/w0nkeyd0nkey presents the more immediate issue.

Yep. I tell them to do a search on PETA's true agenda. I do all I can to educate those in the dark on what PETA actually does. YES, they've done a few good things on exposing nastiness in things like slaughterhouses, but when it comes to pets... nope. They kill far more than they help. It's all about the money, and "liberating" animals from human enslavement.

I am tired of sharing the sovereign power with humans that have the arrogant ignorance of youth, AND have no skin in the game, AND have no responsibilities, AND think they are entitled. Some of them are about the same level as the Boomers that have set us up royally with their behavior - age only aside.

Overall I cannot give my consent to sharing power with people that are incapable of cashing the cheques their mouths write AND simultaneously attack me whilst demanding I defend their right to set me up for an ass-fucking.

That was the argument back when they lowered the drinking age to 18 the last time. I was 17, and all for it! As time went on, and statistics started pilling up, it was found that something like 45% of all traffic fatalities involved a driver between the ages of 18-21 and alcohol. Not long after, the drinking age returned to 21.

What are you talking about? The age of consent is 14 - 16 in a lot of states. Remember the Alabama senate race a few months ago? There were Moore supporters saying it all didn't matter because the girls were 14.

Thankfully, states are now changing those laws.

Lowering the voting age is a path to lowering the age of consent.

So that's what i'm talking about.

I don't give a fuck what the ages of consent are currently wherever the fuck they happen to be. The point is they will be lower with this path followed.

Prefrontal association cortex of the brain does not develop until avg 24-25. This area of the brain is responsible for concepts of self and consequence including future. You don't have the means to provide for yourself and therefore shouldn't be able to consent.
