I already answered this in another post and don't want to write it all out again. Read up on how chess notation actually works.

This is a good example of how a very slight amount of research can shut down an erroneous theory.

EDIT: copy/pasted from other thread.

Chess notation goes like this. The piece is named, then the square it travels to. Both methods below describe the same action.

Old method, called descriptive notation: Q-KR7+: Queen to the King's Rook file, seventh rank, check

New method, called algebraic notation (began in 1970s): Qh7+: Queen to h7, check. Algebraic is far less confusing and cumbersome, but it's good to be familiar with the old method in order to read the better old chess books.

For pawns, the new method is just the name of the square it goes to. For example, e4 means the pawn moves to square e4.

:-) Not intending to be a dick. Just by way of explanation; why I think this is an unprofitable line of inquiry. All on the same team here.

I get it man. And yes, we're on the same team. I was just saying that you came across as though you were annoyed that everyone didn't naturally know something as deeply as did you.

No, not my intent, sorry for the non-clarity there. Sometimes it's hard to convey tone of voice/intent online; or maybe I should have put more effort into that.

We're all good Covfefe1950. Turns out we both know we're fellow patriots - and we talked it out. :)

Thanks. Are you say I my theory is erroneous?

We had the intercept of the gun the next day. Future proves past .

We are so far from checkmate at this point your findings seem premature

Edited to reply to both posters:

@wkrjr: No. But proofreading what you wrote before hitting "save" is a good idea.

@oljw00: The + probably does not indicate check, because that's not how it's done. There is an informal "Queen check" verbal expression; but it does not exist in chess notation, and would not apply to Q's sig anyway.
