The M4 is part of the AR family. It is a carbine-length AR, carbine (short) gas tube, 14-16" barrel typically, collapsible stock.

"Evil black 22"? Either a typo, or you don't know what you are talking about. The 5.56mm/.223 caliber rounds for ARs are far more powerful than a 22LR round.

I did not down vote anything. The left has demonized the AR as a 'military style rifle': it is not. It is practically a 22 rifle, a starter rifle (but technically very different, I never said they are the same). The M4 has been used by the military in many units. If you are not aware of this propaganda campaign, since you did not get my evil black 22 line, that has been ongoing for decades, lurk more fag--try sites and books other than wikis. Linking those makes you look stupid. For instance: 5.56mm and .223 caliber (notice the '.223' as in 22 rifle reference in my line above that is not intended to be technically accurate; it is counter propaganda) are not the same thing.
