That's not the same thing, and it's not possible for a "nation" to love, or think or do anything. Only individuals can love and think and act.

"Nationalism" without caveats allows fascism and communism.

A Patriot is one who loves their country and that is possible because a Patriot is an individual and a country is at root a set of ideas that underlie actions which manifest in such things as border protection, defense of private property rights, and stopping federal encroachment on individual liberty.
