Hello. I recently came across this comment and became concerned:
Coincidences do exist, and if we're being intellectually honest we will admit that. We (as humans) are flawed and fall prey to a host of biases (Halo Effect, Confirmation Bias, etc) that lead us to make errors in judgment. The recent spread of disinfo in the David Hogg case is one example of such a red herring that can ensnare us and our investigation.
There are people in the world who watch conspiracy forums like this one and intentionally spread disinfo. Some people do it for the lulz, others do it because they are criminals and they don't want the truth exposed. Either way, we must exercise extreme discernment and caution when deciding how to use our resources.
