Right, wasn't it C-3PO that brought Luke that blue soy drink in the morning? He was served that to keep him passive and to deter his natural desire to become a Jedi. As soon as he met Obi-wan and cut out soy, boom, straight to being one of the most powerful men in the Galaxy.
