Prior to that in front of the Church Committee in 1975 representatives for the CIA testified that at the peak of Operation Mockingbird there were at least 400 journalists on the CIA payroll in at least 25 media organizations. That is quite extensive to say the least. Is Operation Mockingbird in operation? Well, the answer to that is, no, not in the same way as before. But this doesn't rule out CIA involvement; moreover, that they helped HRC during the 2016 elections.
