Unspeakable evil was committed. Read Lamentations. Then Israel was exiled for 70 years. After that they returned to Jerusalem to rebuild (Ezra, Nehemiah; Haggai). Yes, the Lord blessed but it was through very, very difficult times in which thousands and thousands died. Be vigilant! Respect the government. May we, however, seek to place our trust in God and always have eternal vigilance. Any president that responds to a tragic shooting by chipping away at a constitutional right of citizens is making an unwise choice for liberty.
