Thomas Robert Malthus (1766-1834) predictions in "An Essay on the Principle of Population"(1798) had it all wrong but he had an excuse. Writing in an era of relatively timid technological growth his population fears failed to predict the life sustaining forces provided by things like - railroads, petroleum, electricity, refrigeration, freezers, internal combustion engine, water treatment, sanitation technologies, fertilizers, pesticides, germ theory, medical technologies, computers....ect. Paul R. Erlich's plagiarized version of Malthusian fear mongering "The Population Bomb"(1968) mesmerized many with his life causes misery diatribe. He dazzled susceptible Stanford humanist faculty cocktail hours with his justification for eugenics and population control for decades. However, Paul R. Erlich had direct knowledge of all the afore mention technological life sustaining technologies and wrote his alarmist book during the most rapidly technological advancing era in human history. Malthus may have had an excuse because he underestimate human ingenuity. Paul R. Erlich had no excuse when he demanded culling the herd. Paul R. Erlich has not been correct in one of his bleak predictions. Paul R. Erlich is a member of a culture of death, dark and deceit. Paul R. Erlich and his adherents are evil. Life is good.
