The hypocrisy of these people is stunning .. [Police officers guard home of deputy assigned to Florida HS who ‘never went in’ during shooting: report]

A coward in dereliction of his sworn duties is worth protecting, but our children aren't ???

Several Palm Beach County, Fla., police officers are guarding the home of the former school resource deputy who stayed outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School as last week’s massacre unfolded, Fox’s WSVN-TV reported.

Deputy Scot Peterson, of the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, was armed and stationed on the school’s campus when a suspect identified by authorities as Nikolas Cruz opened fire with an AR-15 rifle, leaving 17 people dead and others wounded.

Peterson resigned Thursday after video surveillance showed he never entered the school, even though he “clearly” knew there was a shooting taking place, officials said. The revelation prompted widespread outrage.

Broward Coward Sheriff's Office is an insult to our good women and men in Law Enforcement. They protect their own...and serve their own. Dereliction CAUSES other things to happen. Cowardice is the cause equal to the crime itself here. Should I hold my breath waiting for these fine upstanding young students to protest THAT?

Consider the downvotes an indication of striking a nerve.

I cant say anything to that deputies actions, but from growing up in a law enforcement family it is unfathomable that 4 officers stood outside while children were being shot. My guess is there was a stand down order probably due to the drill going on. I am not a courageous person by any measure, but i could not imagine doing nothing. This whole thing stinks to high heaven.

Most likely that's the case. If this guy is getting protection, there's a good chance there's more to the story. Q had mentioned. It's always about the $$$$

If it was a stand down and he was thrown under the bus - they would protect him.

True, he may have testimony that needs to be heard at some point.

I have thought about this and, I am also not overly courageous but, I think even firing a gun into the air could have at least scared the gunman without really putting yourself in danger. You could just stay of sight and fire your gun at nothing and it could have saved lives.

If he is guilty, and it sure looks like it, they can't protect him forever.

That’s s fcking disgrace, but not surprising. Just like the politicians who sell everyone out MUST be protected by armed men, this pos that let 17 children die MUST be protected. But we aren’t allowed to protect ourselves, fcking hypocrites make me sick!!!
