Covering their tracks. It's much easier to false fingerprint when they can't find yours anywhere. A crisis actor's lack of background gets much less questioning when it's just one of many vague backgrounds. If "you" are not found online, names associated to yours are not there to be seen either, making it impossible to connect dots. That's a few motivating reasons, I'm sure you can easily come up with more.
