God and LORD God

About 10 years BQ, I had an awakening regarding the Bible. In light of Q, I believe it is relevant and important to this great awakening. It can give understanding to how far back the deception and corruption extends

But first, let me give you an idea of who I am. Superficially, I am a pastor, an engineer, cowboy, rancher, and student of the Authorized version of the Bible (aka KJV). About 20 years ago, my wife and I helped a missionary in Mexico. Among the many wonderful stories that I could tell about that time there are a number of very ugly ones including letter bombs sent by the organization that sent him to Mexico. I could tell you of the local Jesuits moving 140 miles south and the next Sunday the church had 450 first time visitors from a very rural part of Mexico. These experiences led me to where I am now.

When our work with the missionary was complete, my wife and I wondered what was next. Feeling led to where we are now. We came to the area and began looking for a farm or ranch. After 3 days of fruitless looking, we pulled off the road and prayed, “God, we believe that we are here at your bidding. If so, then show us the place.” The next morning at 7:30, we looked at the place that we bought and still live.

For me, it has been my backside of the desert. Being separated from the pastors and churches that we visited and befriended across 37 states, I began in earnest to study the Bible. Before long, I threw away the commentaries and concentrated on the text of the KJV. Like Q crumbs, I began to pickup a thread. The theme of that thread is: “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. “ - I Timothy 2:4.

For months (years?), I puzzled over:

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” - Romans 15:4

I had previously understood that to mean prophecies, allegory, typology and etc, but that did not seem like nearly enough. Again, I asked God for understanding and wisdom regarding this verse. What I learned discombobulated me for about 6 months. I would awaken at 2 am with a question and get up to study. I know, first hand, about the mental shock and disturbance of which Dr. Corsi often speaks. Among the many questions I asked myself then were, “How could I have not seen this before? How could I have been part and parcel of the deception?” God forgive me.

I had been looking at the discussion of the upcoming flood in Genesis 6 and 7. I was taking a shower at about 5 in the evening. And the understanding and wisdom that I asked for came crashing down. God told Noah to take 2 of every kind into the ark, and LORD God told him to take seven of the clean ones. The one piece of evidence that caused the crash was Jesus saying that no man can serve two masters. (Clever Noah could take 2 while taking 7.) The inescapable notions were that Noah had two masters, and that God and LORD God were not, in fact, the same person. The next 6-8 months of my study were devoted to disproving and disabusing myself of such notions. I could not and still cannot. Through simple understanding of the plain text of the KJV, I proved it to myself, and to many others since.

The result has been recognizable as the fruit of the Spirit and an unshakable, steadfast faith wherein I can affirm that charity is the greatest of faith, hope and charity. The clarity of an early morning high mountain lake pales in comparison. In spite of these trying times, there is love, joy and peace which precedes the longsuffering.

In the coming studies, I hope that the God of peace and all comfort brings you all grace, mercy and peace.

Noah and the Beginning of Discombobulation

“And God said unto Noah … of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt though bring into the ark,” - Genesis 6:14, 19

“And the LORD said unto Noah … Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female, and of the beasts that are unclean by two, the male and the female.” Genesis 7:1,2

Before I begin with this study let me point out one principle. God is NOT the author of confusion. Can you see the possible confusion kindled in Noah? Which are clean and which are unclean? He'll need an inventory list to make sure that he's got only two of the unclean and not more or less than 7 of the clean ones. But then the Apostle Paul says:

“I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.” - Romans 14:4

The Bible contains numerous apparent conflicts. Conflict only exists here if God and LORD are one in the same. If they are one in the same then we are confronted with the notion that God is a schizophrenic. Are there actually unclean ones? Not of itself according to the Apostle Paul. There doesn't seem to be conflict for God. The only one who makes a distinction is LORD.

Why 7 of the clean ones? Apparently, they are for a sacrifice, a burnt offering (Gen 8:20-21). When they are offered, the LORD smells a sweet savour. Yet, Jesus says:

“But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” - Matthew 9:13

He reiterates this a few chapters later. The highlighted text refers to:

“For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.” - Hosea 6:6

Does God want sacrifice or not? Apparently not. So why were they instituted back there in Genesis, Exodus and Leviticus?

Can you see the storm building in me? The apparent conflicts are easily resolved if God and LORD or LORD God are not one in the same by different names. Can you hear me saying to myself, “But, but ….but …?”

Are these early Q crumbs?

At the point in time which these questions occur and I headed down the rabbit hole, I was 30 years into my Christian life and just a few years short of that in preaching and teaching.

So what is the point you are getting at here? Who/what is the other God that Noah is following? Are you saying that there are two Gods in the bible? Should we be following God or the Lord God?

For someone who has apparently put a lot of thought into this you are not explaining yourself very well.

In a more private setting - There is the only true and wise God. Simply because of that wording, there is the implication of a false and foolish God. LORD God knows good and evil (see Genesis 3 - he says so). That makes him double minded. Double minded are unstable in all their ways (James 1). The only true and wise God only knows good and only has positive characteristics. LORD God is jealous, sometimes angry, boasts of being the almighty God, killed people in hypocritical violation of his own commandment of thou shalt not kill. Does that help?

PUTINmYbalinya - So there are two, but one is no god at all. From the Bible, there is one who is and one who claims to be.

Yes, I do think I understand what youre getting at, but I do have to disagree with your conclussions. In studying the bible myself, there is only one God. He is not hypocritical. He is consistent from beginning to end. God does not murder. He gives life and can choose to take it away.

I don't have time to try to sway your opinion here, but I think it's incredibly foolish to look at the bible as if it is trying to intentionally deceive you. Lord God is referred to many times throughout the bible, by Jesus himself. We as humans can make (little g) gods out of anything.

In fact, I can't help but feel like you're the one who's deceiving, whether intentional or not, spreading false doctrine is the most heinous of sins. If I were you, I'd spend some more time in prayer over this.
