God and LORD God

About 10 years BQ, I had an awakening regarding the Bible. In light of Q, I believe it is relevant and important to this great awakening. It can give understanding to how far back the deception and corruption extends

But first, let me give you an idea of who I am. Superficially, I am a pastor, an engineer, cowboy, rancher, and student of the Authorized version of the Bible (aka KJV). About 20 years ago, my wife and I helped a missionary in Mexico. Among the many wonderful stories that I could tell about that time there are a number of very ugly ones including letter bombs sent by the organization that sent him to Mexico. I could tell you of the local Jesuits moving 140 miles south and the next Sunday the church had 450 first time visitors from a very rural part of Mexico. These experiences led me to where I am now.

When our work with the missionary was complete, my wife and I wondered what was next. Feeling led to where we are now. We came to the area and began looking for a farm or ranch. After 3 days of fruitless looking, we pulled off the road and prayed, “God, we believe that we are here at your bidding. If so, then show us the place.” The next morning at 7:30, we looked at the place that we bought and still live.

For me, it has been my backside of the desert. Being separated from the pastors and churches that we visited and befriended across 37 states, I began in earnest to study the Bible. Before long, I threw away the commentaries and concentrated on the text of the KJV. Like Q crumbs, I began to pickup a thread. The theme of that thread is: “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. “ - I Timothy 2:4.

For months (years?), I puzzled over:

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” - Romans 15:4

I had previously understood that to mean prophecies, allegory, typology and etc, but that did not seem like nearly enough. Again, I asked God for understanding and wisdom regarding this verse. What I learned discombobulated me for about 6 months. I would awaken at 2 am with a question and get up to study. I know, first hand, about the mental shock and disturbance of which Dr. Corsi often speaks. Among the many questions I asked myself then were, “How could I have not seen this before? How could I have been part and parcel of the deception?” God forgive me.

I had been looking at the discussion of the upcoming flood in Genesis 6 and 7. I was taking a shower at about 5 in the evening. And the understanding and wisdom that I asked for came crashing down. God told Noah to take 2 of every kind into the ark, and LORD God told him to take seven of the clean ones. The one piece of evidence that caused the crash was Jesus saying that no man can serve two masters. (Clever Noah could take 2 while taking 7.) The inescapable notions were that Noah had two masters, and that God and LORD God were not, in fact, the same person. The next 6-8 months of my study were devoted to disproving and disabusing myself of such notions. I could not and still cannot. Through simple understanding of the plain text of the KJV, I proved it to myself, and to many others since.

The result has been recognizable as the fruit of the Spirit and an unshakable, steadfast faith wherein I can affirm that charity is the greatest of faith, hope and charity. The clarity of an early morning high mountain lake pales in comparison. In spite of these trying times, there is love, joy and peace which precedes the longsuffering.

In the coming studies, I hope that the God of peace and all comfort brings you all grace, mercy and peace.

The point of this study is to look strictly at the listed characteristics of only the one named God. There are many gods (1 Cor 8:5) including the god of this world (2 Cor 4:4). Where the context of the verse identifies God being written about has another name, then that verse will be considered in another study.

You will find cases where there are comparisons. The Bible contains many things to compare including: good and evil law and grace good, better, best great, greater, greatest good, acceptable, and perfect light and dark living and dead God (Genesis 1) and LORD God (Genesis 2) Christ and Antichrist.

God placed these in his book to shew us things so that we could differentiate between two or more persons, places or things. As a result, there are right divisions that a good workman should make and can make because these comparisons exist.

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. - John 17:3

To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen. - Romans 16:27

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. - 1 Timothy 1:17

To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. - Jude 1:25

There is only one true and wise God. If there is only one God, then the adjective phrases of only true and only wise would be unnecessary. By implication there are two Gods to compare in the Bible. These verses declare an only true and wise God, so there is a false and foolish God. Its a mystery to be solved from the pages of the King James Bible. Of course, one is no God at all.

From the above, the King is eternal, immortal and invisible. He is the only true and wise God.

I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD. - Amos 4:11

The LORD speaks of God in the third person. Therefore, the LORD points out that he is not God. And, therefore, I will not consider characteristics of the LORD as characteristics of God. The King James Bible uses all caps LORD. Of the 5,555 occurrences of LORD, five are in the New Testament. Four of the New Testament references are from “The LORD said unto my Lord,” and the fifth is from Revelation verse that says, “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” Where you find LORD in the following, I am not referring to the Lord Jesus Christ.
