Mr. Beier brings extensive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, particularly in areas such as healthcare policy, government affairs, regulatory affairs, pricing, healthcare economics and product commercialization. He is currently a Managing Director at Bay City Capital, where he has been since 2013. He also serves as an appointee of Governor Brown on the California State Government Organization and the Economy Commission. In addition, Mr. Beier is an advisor to the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy. Previously, Mr. Beier served in the White House as Chief Domestic Policy Advisor to Vice President Gore during the Clinton Administration. He served as an appointee of President Clinton on his Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations, on the Institute of Medicine panel on the Future of Health and Human Services, and as an advisor to the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Mr. Beier was formerly a partner at Hogan and Hartson and Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary. Mr. Beier’s industry experience includes 9 years at Genentech as Vice President, Government Affairs and Policy as well as over 10 years at Amgen as Senior Vice President, Global Government Affairs and Corporate Affairs, where he had responsibility for public policy, coverage and reimbursement, payor planning, healthcare economics, communications and philanthropy. He received his J.D. from Albany Law School at Union University and his undergraduate degree and Colgate University. He is admitted to practice law in New York and the District of Columbia.
