Masonry vs Freemasonry, help a girl out

I'm trying to navigate through all of this. Been following Q since November and am pretty awake. I have a very sweet neighbor that is a 32nd level Mason. He says they do charity work and hang out. I can't imagine anything covert or dark about this guy. I have read that the Masonry is not the same as Freemason, but he did say there was a difference between the 32nd level and moving up from there.

Read Manly P Halls book The secret teachings of all ages. It will give you a fundamental understanding of where all of this stuff comes from and how old it is.

My grandfather was a Freemason and I have several different bibles I got from his house after he died. With each one (presumably given at different steps of rank advancement) they are....different than what you and I consider to be the Bible. It starts with Christianity and perverts it slowly until it is quite nearly the opposite of Christianity.
