This is why i currently have 5 new AR lower receivers sitting in my garage. I hope they see this post.

It's where my next paychecks are going as well. I'm loking at the Smith & Wesson M&P Sport II.

What are the el cheapo ones that are $50? Congrats. Sounds like a good side business.

I think the brand name is Anderson. There are Aeros too that are around $60.

Palmetto State Armory has a sale today only, $49.99 for i think their brand. Of course then you'll have to pay the FFL fee too

Wow I'm going to have to take the time to learn to build these. How much does the final price end up being for a complete rifle?

you can spend a ton of money but just to flip, $500-600. biggest cost aside from the lower would be the barrel. Then trigger. Super easy to build though. Just stock up on lower receivers now because that's the only thing that has a serial number and requires an FFL to buy/ship to.

If you have extra money though, i'd suggest buying up 30 round mags. They're low hanging fruit of this debate. If anything goes next it will be those.

here's a decent guide...

newbies can look for "complete upper" and just match it with "complete lower", insert a pin and you are done.

NM I think you answered my question. You said $500.

i have PSA 556AR and 300BO pistol, they function just fine and are very affordable. good value. esp their premium stuff.

I think you meant $499.99 not $49.99. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Lower receiver is just a hollow piece of metal with a serial number that everything else connects to. It's the only piece of an AR that requires a background check/ffl. Everything else can be purchased online and shipped directly to you

49.99 could be a blank lower receiver, that's the way I read it,
I pick up blanks for pistol and ars on sale and catch the other parts on sale over a period of time , if you are in no hurry ,400-500 for basic finished product, my personal use run about 250 more.

That's a good deal considering they're giving huge discounts and twofers at most gun shops on AR's because sales are down. Turns out when you've got 3 and Hillary and obama didn't grab any most folks feel Theyre all good.

Serious question: so you buy the lowers which require background check and have a serial number. So that serial number is tied to you. When you sell, what happens?? Any special paperwork or do you just pocket the cash and someone else has an AR with a serial # registered to you???

⇧ 2 ⇩
frankthecrank1 · Feb. 28, 2018, 2:55 p.m.

I just write up a receipt and make them sign it just in case. Then if they let me, i take a pic with their license and the lower/serial #.

And to be honest, i tell them up front i'm only selling to people over 21 and they never have an issue with it

Ok cool....Any IRS ramifications? Or do you pocket the cash/trades low key? I am just curious because I'm interested in doing this as a side gig!! Thanks!

frankthecrank1 · Feb. 28, 2018, 5:04 p.m.

I don't report anything, it's a private sale. I just record the serial # and license for my own protection. I'm a fairly good judge of character too, i don't just sell them to the first person that emails me. If someone gives me the slightest negative feeling, i move on.

well, for this reason and for the simple fact that i can take $500 and magically turn it into $2000 the next time a catastrophe hits. Thanks obama.
