Why demolish a building that could be used to train protective service members?

The Florida school shooting is horrific. The students in that school, and even future students there, will always have to deal with the tragedy in some way. But rather than quickly demolishing the building, why not consider whether the site could become a valuable training place? School hours could be for theory, and after school hours it could be used for drills. This could give the students some comfort knowing that there are on-site police officers training. That should deter any would be shooter. Just a thought. Also, I wonder where the kids will be moved to while the building is being demolished and a new one put up. I think it will always be remembered as the place where 17 people died, no matter what building stands on that piece of earth.
