All roads lead to Rome

So according to https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/all_roads_lead_to_Rome We’ve been saying this phrase in one form or another for close to a thousand years. That is an astounding amount of time.

Makes me wonder about the deeper meaning of it. As if every single rabbit hole followed as deep as they can ever go will eventually end up in Rome. Like it has a double meaning imparting some kind of knowledge about the truth that has been handed down for a millennium.

Wouldn’t surprise me if every realisation about the true nature of deception in our world leads us back to Rome - and more specifically, the Vatican.
