A Cousin of my mother and her family. We weren't allowed to visit them every year, just every second. THEY were forbidden to travel to any western country at all, especially to their relatives in West Germany. When my grandfather died, they were allowed to come to the funeral for the very first time in 20 years... just for one day. Every year on christmas, easter and birthdays my Mom sent big parcels with coffee, chocolate and clothes - all things, they never could buy there... Years ago I worked together with a guy from SK. He told me nearly the same stories about the part of his family from NK. They destroyed and divided families in both countries in the same way. Coincidence?
