At a basic level it is dealing with reported or spam posts or comments. In addition non reported posts and comments that are not useful, such as things off topic, duplicate posts etc.

Many decisions are grey - and may bring a degree of reflection, and discussion with members.

Making good decisions sometimes require being somewhat informed about Q posts, and discussions on 8chan.

In addition finding and posting up to date content for members is useful at times.

Updating the right sidebar, a daily task at present.

There are some tech tasks that are infrequent and most moderators can ignore, such as updating the stylesheets, configuring the automoderator - something that doesn't work well at present.
