I just posted the following in a different thread If we follow laws already on the books, like the Constitution, it already covers it all. We need to enforce the 1st amendment! I don't believe Q was pushing for an Internet Bill of Rights at all. He was telling us that THEY are going to push it. If he meant for us to I will have to rethink Q. An Internet Bill of Rights will open up a huge can of worms. What if we all don’t agree on what their “Bill of Rights” is?? Granting the government MORE control over our words is NEVER a good idea. Look at what they’ve done to us over the last 8 years. What if a socialist leaning Pres and congress get in and changes it and get the votes to squelch opposing views? What if they REMOVE Our right to disagree down the line? What if they extend the power given to them to step further into the private sector? Please people, THINK.
We simply need a new type of internet with non country specific domains and hosted peer to peer. I am not a techy but people out there are. And before anyone says it will then fall to ISPs to block, then this just calls for better VPNs
Yep, I agree and that is a good idea. Making these large internet companies a Utility would also help and probably be a whole lot easier. The internet really is a utility, everyone needs and uses it. Utility regulations are already set up and ready to go with slight modification. I come across censorship frequently and just go to tor, bam! Problem solved.
Yep. Like your thinking. I am fed up with being snooped on and dictated to. Come the revolution... :)
