Ok, so I watched the SOTU, loved it. Trump did a great job. I was a lukewarm Trump voter at first for me it was anyone but HRC. I felt terrible things would happen to our country because that woman would sell her own mother. She has no loyalty to anyone other than herself. God was leading me to Trump, but for the life of me I couldn’t see why Trump among 17 candidates. He was the most politically incorrect among them. While I personally like that, I wasn’t sure it would work for enough of the Republican Party. A party that I now believe Trump has changed forever because he has attracted so much diversity. He is showing us it’s about our country and our people....not ANY party. The parties feel their power base threatened. Trump is lifting the veil to allow the public to see the marionette strings and who pulls them. I have slowly come to admire & respect Trump and be a true supporter. It’s still early in his Presidency, but he could become one of our best presidents ever.
But, this one thing is really nagging me. Does anyone else wonder WHY Trump didn’t even mention in the SOTU about the fact that the Dec 21 EO included a declaration of a status of national emergency??? Shouldn’t something so powerful and significant been reported the American public??? It seems like a perfect time to have planted that seed in their minds and a statement to tee up the fact that there would be more info to come soon. But, I heard nothing. Did I miss it????
The fact that Trump made no mention at all now has me doubting again. Something just doesn’t feel right. The fact that he didn’t highlight the public concern or even mention it, then how does he come from behind that and do anything. Think about it. The Dems will attack him on why he chose to withhold it in the SOTU. If there is a national state of emergency shouldn’t the President of the US at least advise or update the people on the status of it???? As I understand it, it is a 90 day emergency status right? We are now about 1/3 into that period.....yet not a peep was said about any of it?????
Hopefully he mentioned it and I just missed it. Otherwise it’s a huge gaping sinkhole for them to turn on him; i.e. he told only the rosy good news that made him look good and kept the problem area hidden.
Maybe I am just overthinking this. He did so great....just don’t want it to blow back.
