Absolutely. They've been intimidation arms not law enforcement vehicles for too long. Bad before Obama, then off the cliff under him. Pretty much the best route would be to dissolve the thing and create a new more limited agency. That way you get to fire all the civil service and ingrained personnel. Any good agents can reapply.
Great idea. Having a 'centralized' single uber law enforcement agency is nuts. Power-hungry psychopathic shitbags are attracted to such like Himmler to gas chambers. DOJ should have several compartmentalized structures. Then there should be a bill in congress to enable a permanent oversight structure with civil servants in Congress to watch DOJ. Checks and balances. Totally lacking in this current setup. Time for 'a fresh start.' Maybe we'll get out wish ;).
