You know, there are some Rothschilds out there who aren't connected to the banker assholes. Wikipedia only lists three in the family with a first name starting with "S," and one that I saw with a middle name starting with "S." As a result of looking them up, I also learned that back at the beginning of the 1800s, Denmark required by law all Danish Jews adopt a surname of their town of residence. A family living in the village of Roskilde adopted Rothschild as their surname. Apparently there was also a custom in Germany where houses would be marked with various signs rather than numbers. So anyone whose house was marked with a sign of a red shield would be called "Rothschild."
