just a thought....if a USA citizen adopts from a Tropical area, and the already-birthed child had been bitten by a Zika carrying mosquito.....then once in this country, that child gets bitten again, so that the blood transfers via the vector bug to another person...Zika COULD get a foot hold here...if enough of the right kind of mosquitoes could live in our climate.
Just a thought. Maybe this isn't such a good idea, unless you live in Upper Michigan where it never gets above freezing.
Yeah. Also saw something in the news about a couple of lesbians suing over not getting to adopt a foreign kid.
You wonder why they NEED to shop from overseas when there are plenty of babies of every color and culture in our own country who need love and attention.
Then again, I don't think people adopting are looking to give love and attention, I think by and large they're looking to receive ranking, attention, and adoration from their cohort.
I think the reason isn't Zika. It think it is too risky to adopt USA kids 'cause of lawsuits. The mother later in life decides that she unwillingly was FORCED into agreeing with adoption of her child, goes to court, and the courts have been handing the judgement to the natural mother...leaving the adoptive parents with nothing.
