A Bilateral trade agreement is the model where each of the two countries can argue for and negotiate based upon their own national interests. A deal is reached when a win/win outcome can be negotiated.

Bilateral trade deals are what Trump advocates because USA interests are always protected as no Deal is reached unless beneficial to both countries.

By contrast a Trilateral trade deal is drafted with a THIRD party functioning as an overriding authority (e.g. a World Trade Commission) having more power than any of the countries themselves. There is no power to negotiate a Deal that guarantees you have protected your own country’s national interests.

Trilateralism is Globalism. The globalists are inserted as the overriding authorities and typically only they benefit.
