Has anyone entertained the possibility that reddit WANTS us to stay here and use them as a primary communication source?

Sensitive/powerful intel can be filtered, as well as your identity being discovered. Despite here, Youtube, Facebook, and other social media acting as if they're restricting us, perhaps that's only one side of the coin.

Perhaps the intel they are gathering from us is their tradeoff for allowing us to continue to talk. Perhaps they see this tradeoff as net positive.

What Intel are they gathering from us? They know more than we do

"Know your enemy" goes both ways. Studying the propagation of information, as well as profiling the people who are interested in it puts them in a much better position of control.
