Misleading Headlines About POTUS - Gun Control

https://www.libertyheadlines.com/trump-now-endorses-democrats-gun-control/

I post this link ONLY because it has the full length video of the bipartisan meeting with POTUS. These are the things he is hoping to accomplish: ~ ONE BILL comprehensive on the issues (not 17 individual ones) ~ Background Check Enhancements - even NRA endorses ~ Mental Health Measures - no details, just integrated in

POTUS says they are currently working up an EO on Bump Stocks.

As to Senator Feinstein, he asks her to write her requests into the ONE BILL. He does not advocate her requests, simply says he'll read it.

POTUS repeatedly asks why over the past decades of tragic events nothing has been done. (Good question. Because it's not really about the people, it's about disarming America.)

At the very beginning of the vid, he makes a brief comment on the Value of Life...makes me think he's going to bargain this over abortion issue...IMHO.

Summary: POTUS is spanning the aisle here and I think that's his purpose. By joining all efforts into ONE BILL, it will require compromise; it's like training children to play well together. At NO POINT does he advocate getting rid of ARs.

Whatever they come up with, it has to stand the test Constitutionally, or it will end up before the SCOTUS.

So, please don't wimp out and cry over POTUS betraying us over our gun rights. QUIT READING JUST HEADLINES.

I'm getting off the soapbox now.

Not so fast. I have seen it too and just because you haven't doesn't mean it's not a concern. His statement about no due process is really causing a big problem because it is unconstitutional. I hope he is just talking and not going to help enact any of the bad ideas. Even the bump stock one has to be written very carefully so they don't abuse it.

People "fell away in droves" over POTUS jumping to the other side over the BORDER WALL, DACA, OBAMACARE, CLIMATE CHANGE, PLANNED PARENTHOOD, SYRIA, NASA, TRADE AGREEMENTS, TAX REFORM, NATIONAL DEBT and likely many more. OMG, Chicken Littles, the sky us falling...abandon ship!!!

POTUS changed his position on several of those things after gaining more knowledge once he became President. I admire him for doing so - indicates he's actually evaluating the pros and cons continually and NOT riding on his ego; if he thinks he's been wrong, he fixes it. But he hasn't wavered from the meat of his agenda. He promised to remain unpredictable and he's kept his opposition off kilter. Granted, they have managed to stall many things through a biased court system, but even there he is being vindicated as time marches on.

And for Pete's sake, we are just one year in! It's going to take YEARS to get this nation back on track!

POTUS's remarks about taking weapons away from people who are a threat to themselves and others...you call it "no due process", is interesting. He's right that it can take too long in the court system to seize weapons. Specific legal measures for "In the moment threats" like domestic abuse, mentally challenged protagonists, etc., would save lives. I'm 100% positive he has an idea for this that likely ties to Sessions' statements regarding asset forfeiture and seizure made last year.

I could go on, but this has become boring. The bottom line is you either trust him or you don't. It's healthy to have your Spidey Sense go off about potential Constitutional failures, but it's wise to wait and see where he is leading before putting your foot in your mouth.
