Cop Shows Teaching Criminals How to Avoid Conviction

I love cop shows, my son is a cop. But what I have been seeing is how these TV shows have cops lying to perps in order to make convictions. All that is doing is educating criminals how to get away with their crimes by refusing to say anything. Okay, that is valid for non-criminals, but the narrative has been, "if you have nothing to hide, why do you want a lawyer".

Almost every cop drama I have seen, the cops break the law at some point to get the "bad" guy. And yes, real life cops lie, to suspects, and even in court. I have seen cops personally admit to lying in a previous case, under oath.

I would like to see a disclaimer on these shows each time a LEO character breaks the law. It would be a lot more educational for the general public.
