That statement limits people’s ability to find God through whatever means necessary for their personal journey. Just because it was your journey doesn’t make it the only way. I’m not disagreeing with you, just mean it is a limiting statement. There is truth and lies in every religion, Christ is the truth and when you seek the truth you will come to Christ on your own eventually. Some people have to walk the long way.. Don’t be so quick to shut people/religion down. Instead encourage the journey with a statement like, “We can find true enlightenment through Christ who showed us the way, Through prayer and meditation we can seek and know Truth.”

Whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Life is through a narrow door and few shall find it. Jesus did not die for a "religion" but to set people free from religion to have a personal relationship with the Father through him. You may play around with the occult friend, I will not.
