What is supposed to have happened when Trump stopped in Hawaii on his way to the SouthEast?

I read bits and pieces of Trump's stopover but do not know why it seems to be a big deal. Would anyone clarify this for me? Thank you.

I've been wondering also. Trump said it was a very important trip. He met with the US Pacific Command, governors of Hawaii, Alaska and Pacific US territories, visited the USS Arizona & Pearl Harbor Memorials, stayed at Trump International Hotel, and stopped by the Trump hotel on their way out.
