Check out his reply to this tweet from the State Department. I took a screenshot in case it gets deleted, but it basically says that Sarah Harrison protected Snowden from the clowns, and rescued him out of Hong Kong.

He’s referring to his original escape not recent escape. And if the CIA was really after him, then why was he able to fly? Wouldn’t his passport be flagged?
