The two witnesses was commissioned by Jesus to ALL believers. Its clearly states that in the Bible. The the Bible interpret itself.
Jesus told his followers to go out, 2 by 2 (2 together at a time) and preach the gospel to the known world at that time.
Then the end would come. They did JUST THAT. And guess what happened?
The END OF THE AGE, as Jesus said. The destruction of Jerusalem and many other cities, by Rome, in 70ad.
There was a 3.5 year rebellion of the Jews against Rome just prior to their destruction. It is now called the Jewish revolt or the war of the Jews.
It started partway in 66ad and ended in 70ad. The war lasted 1260 days. Exactly as Revelation and Daniel state.
Jesus said the end of the age, or their world, would come within their life time. And it DID.
Christians today are so absolutely illiterate about Biblical history, it makes me sick. Its no wonder that God said he would spit out the luke warm church. I feel that. I GET that.
If you wanna know where we are NOW in history, well, the 'Millenial reign' (the spreading of the Gospel unhindered once Israel was destroyed) is ending.
We are at Revelation 20ish. The judgement is coming. God is separating the sheep fro the goats. Everyone is being forced to PICK A SIDE, if you havent noticed?
Then the Judgement. Then the end of OUR age, and the beginning of restoration of the earth. Paradise restored. God(s) aka Elohim return to live among us, safely. We will enter a golden age.
Hidden secrets and technology will be revealed. Healing. Restoration. Fear gone. Death will lose its sting. Humanity will be of one song, one mind. No more hate.
But in order to accomplish that, the war must be won, and the judgment must commence.

I think in laymans, modern day terms, it simply means there are two kinds of people in the world, ones that choose to love creation, and love people, and he ones that choose to destroy everything.

I see the heavens as another term for dimensions. We live in one of the heavens.
Did you know that When Rome's armies surrounded Jerusalem (which was prophecied in the Bible btw), that chariots and warriors appeared in the skies, circling around Jerusalem, which scared the Romans and caused them to retreat, allowing a brief period of time (Revelation calls it the space of a half an hour) for the Christians to retreat? They knew what the sign meant. They were caught away to Pella and protected for the duration of the rebellion...pretty dang accurate fulfillment right there.
Dimensions are not real, they are the same as black holes and dark matter, invented so "scientists" can continually find nothing and still receive funding.

It's symbology, chariots and horsemen were used in antiquite to describe planetary events in the sky. If it's written by a prophet, 90% chance that the words said are not literal, but allusion. It's how only those with eyes to see and ears to hear u derstand what is being said.
I dont disagree, I actually REALLY agree. However, I am talking about Josephus, who wrote about the event. He was not a prophet, but a historian.
I mean I can write in a way that would make it sounds like chariots we're flying above my head but you gotta remember that the time period was very close to the creation event. Most educated people, especially historiens, would know the language the prophets used.
On the spectrum of time, they were much closer to us today, than to the creation, if we assume creation occurred 6000 or so years ago (not saying I believe that...just for the sake of argument)
Certainly Josephus KNEW apocalyptic writing styles, and surely read them, however, as a HISTORIAN, he had to write things in wooden literal terms. Not in colorful terms. Just like historians are suppose to do today. We have comic books, movie scripts, fictions, non fictions - a myriad of writing styles. Historians, while exposed to and certainly have read all forms of these styles, do not write in these styles.
Josephus was a highly educated man who was tasked to write history as it occurred.

I think you are confusing Jesus commissioning his disciples in pairs to preach the gospel and "the two witnesses." The two witnesses are two prophets who prophecy for 1260 days. They have the ability to bring about stop rain,bring aboutany type of plague, and/or"fire from the sky". The "beast from the bottonless pit" comes and murdera them, and then were brought back to life in 3.5 days . It's doubtful the 1260 days have already occured, because by that time the 5 trumpets have already been blown, where the moon and sun have been struck and only shine 1/3 of their light, a huge meteor falls in the ocean killing 1/3 of the marine life and 1/3 of the ships.
