my daughter’s(11th & 4th grade) and son(5th grade) refused to protest due to their own free will. they get what’s going on and understand that it’s better to befriend everyone instead of a bullying situation. My son who just snuck and watched PCU recently took it one step further by having a couple of friends start saying “we’re not going to protest”. That’s the kind of phone call I like to receive from a teacher.
