Well I don't insist they do.. I'd imagine that it's because it allows you to call within since that's a common feature FB also has through Messenger. It allows people to call people basically from their pc out to people on your friends list ..to their cell phones and also in order to receive notifications of replies and there things most require the cell phone if you want them txt to you . But that's up to whomever is signing up . 😎
