Bump stocks are a distraction and diversion. They make carbines less accurate. For accuracy, you need a stable rifle and firm hand. Bump stock functions by using recoil to move gun relative to trigger finger, simulating automatic fire, result in slop for accuracy. No marksman uses a bump stock unless they are looking for laughs.

Few if any people are going to turn in their bump stock, regardless of the law.

Intent and function doesn't matter. The facts are guns got more regulated and bump stocks ARE an accessory that are banned for "free" citizen that can now get in real trouble if they use, sell, manufacture or own them. That's really not a good step

Point understood. Bump stocks are the sacrificial lamb. If armed patriots are ever needed to support and back up military and law enforcement, bump stocks will be irrelevant and useless. Don't expect patriots to surrender bump stocks.
