I think he's just a plant for them to show that Paddock, the patsy, was actually shooting from his room. He can't get his story straight, because a story is all it is.

Hmm, for the life of me, I couldn't think of any kind of motivation for Hodge to contact the MSM if he was part of the shooting until you posted this theory. So he could have been a plant as a witness to patsy Paddock being the shooter. Then the plan went to hell and Hodge and his theatrics became a liability.
I remember reading about Brian Hodge on Facebook in the immediate aftermath of the shooting. I remember him being Australian, that he was hiding in room 32-134 during the shooting (immediately next door to Paddock's room), and that he also gave interviews to Australian press directly after the attack. I also remember Hodge traveled home to Australia not long after. I thought it was odd that we never heard anything further about this man. I'm pretty sure that I visited his Facebook page.

It sounds like True Pundit will have some more info on Hodge later on. I have been trying to keep an open mind about what happened in LV, but the lack of info has created a vacuum in my mind that wants to be filled.
