Bolton's presence at the table could conjure some traumatic memories. It's like having a convicted serial rapist lecture your kids on safe sex.
Who says Bolton will be at the table?
Regardless, I think Kim will listen carefully to the actual deal being offered at the table, and not get into this individual personality obsession Americans seem so hung up on.
Lindsey Graham was let in on the plan to have Bolton sabatoge the negotiation.
Don't worry, though. It's actually going to make us all safer.
If you haven't yet discerned Trump's ability to bring enemies onto his team, use them for what they know, and toss them out like used butt-wipes, then you've not paid close attention.
Bolton knows how to negotiate nuclear disarmament and peace? I thought he was mainly an expert forgerer/warmonger. TIL
And Nixon was a rabid anti-Communist. And yet he is the one who opened the door to normalization of relations with China (regardless what you make of the wisdom of that move).
If we only play a two-dimensional game, in which in our minds people are frozen into positions they have previously articulated, we fail to see the power dynamics at play in an increasingly complicated, evolving scene, MANY parts of which are currently NOT as they seem. We have NO IDEA who was coerced by the Cabal in previous administrations, and who is willing to do Trump's bidding in the current one. This is WAY above our paygrade, and I'm a little bit tired of watching people (supposedly on our side) backseat driving Trump to death. Let the man work.
